Presenter:
Mark Gottlieb, JD
Executive Director of the Public Health Advocacy Institute (PHAI) and teaches Public Health Advocacy at Northeastern University School of Law
Mark Gottlieb, JD is a public health and research attorney who has worked in the field for over 30 years. He is the executive director of the Public Health Advocacy Institute (PHAI) and teaches Public Health Advocacy at Northeastern University School of Law. Professor Gottlieb’s primary professional focus has been on legal and regulatory interventions to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with tobacco industry products. In recent years, he has also focused on predatory gambling, gun violence prevention, and food policy. His litigation work includes tobacco personal injury cases, challenges to online gambling marketing practices, e-cigarette consumer protection actions, and the defense of health regulations through PHAI’s Center for Public Health Litigation.

Director of Gambling Policy with the Public Health Advocacy Institute at Northeastern University, Primary Therapist and Internationally Certified Gambling Counselor (ICGC-I)
Harry Levant, LP.D, MA PCC, ICGC-I is a gambling and substance disorder counselor and advocate for Ethical Gambling Reform and public health policy. He serves as the Director of Gambling Policy with the Public Health Advocacy Institute at Northeastern University, where he is leading the movement to bring public health reform and regulation to the gambling industry. Harry is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Counseling Association, Pennsylvania Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society of Professional Counseling, and Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers of Pennsylvania. He holds a doctorate in law and public policy from Northeastern University and a master’s in professional counseling from La Salle University.
